Thoughts on Love and Marriage....

H: "Mom, I don't think "love" is weird or gross."
Me: "I don't either."
H: "Some kids at school do, but I don't."
Me: "Well, good for you."
H: "I don't think I'll marry my sister, even though she wants to."
Me: "Yeah, that's probably better."

With our morning off, we worked on H's Valentine's Day box. I haven't thought about these little boxes in ages, but I remember making one in grade school. It was so fun to share this moment with her!

Wow! Tis the season of LOVE!! It's wonderful to keep the traditions alive even in this techy age. There is nothing like a Valentine box filled with little notes and treasures. The box looks great. Enjoy the day!

Have a Very Merry Un-birthday to you, to you....

The tallest of the small is 6.5 years old. We had the usual half-birthday fun. At school, on her half-birthday, one of her friends told her that half birthdays aren't real. She mentioned this to me when she got off the bus. Then she asked me if half birthdays are "real." Hmmmmm. "What do you think?" I asked her (love that parenting technique). Well, she explained that lots of people don't celebrate their half birthdays, most people probably. But since we do, they are real for us. Sounds good to me : ) You get to celebrate their lives twice as many times- how can I resist, besides, it involves CAKE people! Happy half-birthday!
